Evaluation

A communication evaluation for young children will assess their understanding of language and how they use language to express their wants, needs, emotions and ideas. It will determine if their articulation skills (i.e., how they produce the speech sounds that make up words) are age-appropriate. In addition, your child's pragmatic or social communication skills are also an important aspect of overall communication effectiveness so they will be included in any evaluation as well.  Following the evaluation, a determination will be made about the need for speech/language/communication therapy services.
